and growing up in southern Ontario, Mother’s Pizza Parlour and Spaghetti House was our family’s go-to restaurant for family outings. Our closest Mother’s was located in Newmarket, Ontario. In high school, my friends and I would head there for lunch. At that time, Mother’s had a 15 minutes or free, express lunch menu. With fingers crossed and eyes on our watches, we hoped and prayed that today was the day they didn’t get our order out in time…..sadly, that happened. Later on, I remember being in the arcade, Fantasy Place, that shared the same plaza as Mother’s and hearing of the news that Mother’s was closing. A sad day for sure. But years later and to be associated with bringing Mother’s back has been incredible. I love hearing the personal stories of Mother’s and often learn something new about this iconic brand. After bringing back Pop Shoppe and now Mother’s, I feel like the only thing left on my list is Sergio Valente jeans! Long live the 70’s and 80’s. – Brian Alger, President Mother’s Pizza.
